New Jersey requires a state-approved prelicensing course (20 hours).

Agent Cloud is not a state-approved prelicensing course, so it won't meet that requirement. To meet it, we recommend XCEL Solutions. Use partner code Life2025 to get it for $50. You don't have to buy Agent Cloud. Many students add it for extra practice, plain-English lessons and the simulated exam.

Heads up

Things people miss in New Jersey

#1 No Combined Exam

New Jersey does not offer a combined Life & Health exam; separate exams must be passed for each.

#2 Certificate Permanence

Approved prelicensing course certificates of completion do not expire, allowing candidates flexibility in exam scheduling.

#3 Fingerprinting Timing

Fingerprinting should only be completed after passing the state exam and submitting the license application.
