CE per renewal
15 hours
New York requires a state-approved prelicensing course (20 hours).
Agent Cloud is not a state-approved prelicensing course, so it won't meet that requirement. To meet it, we recommend XCEL Solutions. Use partner code Life2025 to get it for $50. You don't have to buy Agent Cloud. Many students add it for extra practice, plain-English lessons and the simulated exam.

Things people miss in New York
#1 Mandatory CE topics
Within your 15 required CE hours, you must complete at least one credit each in insurance law, ethics, and diversity, inclusion, and elimination of bias.
#2 Prelicensing certificate validity
Once earned, your prelicensing certificate of completion has no expiration date, allowing flexibility in scheduling your state exam.
#3 Exam flexibility
Candidates can choose to take a combined Life, Accident & Health exam or separate exams for individual lines.
